Growing as a Community

Growing as a Community

Beyond Division, Towards Collective Healing

Tue, November 4th, 2025
3-4:30 PM ET | 2-3:30 PM CT | 1-2:30PM MT | 12-1:30 PM PT

Hosted by UC Davis Health Office for Health Equity by Design for Inclusive Excellence

In times of escalating violence and division, our instinct is often to speed up, to do more, to fight harder. But what if the path to justice, healing, and belonging begins with slowing down?

In this talk, we’ll explore:

  • Frameworks for collective healing, resilience, and thriving by understanding how trauma shapes our communities

  • Why alienation fuels violence

  • How slowing down helps us build real connection

Together we’ll consider how to honor boundaries without building walls, and how to create bridges of trust and equity that make Beloved Community—and true safety for all—possible. Attendees have a chance to win a copy of Kazu's latest book Fierce Vulnerability, in an exclusive raffle!
